Yoga begins with the breath. Breathing affects everything we do and how we do it. By changing the way we breathe we change our lives. Without breath, life cannot sustain itself. But breath does more than simply support the body, it can free the mind and liberate the spirit. When the breath is anxious so are our thoughts and feelings. When the breath is calm, so become our mind and emotions. It is in the dialogue between breath and movement that yoga is able to connect to and heal the mind, body and heart.
